Urgent cybersecurity update

Josh Klasco Blog

In light of recent events, you will likely get emails from employees and vendors asking to route their payments to new accounts.

Hackers are mimicking these emails, in an effort to steal your employees’/ vendors’ money.

Here are emails to look out for:

Dear HR/ accounts payable,

I used to bank with SVB. Please route my salary/ payment to this new account:

Account #

Bank info

If you have any questions, please call me at (###) ###-####

Thanks,

Employee/ vendor

If you see any requests like these, call the phone number you have on file for that employee/ vendor and confirm that this email is coming from them. Do not call the number listed in the email! That number will go to the hacker’s phone.
